Free wedding ceremony at Hof Herzberg

One year ago today, I got to be part of Laura and Stefan’s wedding at Hof Herzberg in Essenheim. I met Laura at her parent’s house, getting her Make-Up done by the lovely Olga. Can you spot the little trick she used? 😉 While they were busy, I took some time to shoot the details (one of my favourite part of a wedding day!) and the olive trees in the garden provided lovely companions for that!

Afterwards, I headed for Hof Herzberg, a lovely (and quite hidden) venue right in the middle of Essenheim. Since it’s surrounded by buildings, you need to enter the patio through a huge archway, that leads right into an oasis of Mediterranean stone walls, lush flowers everywhere and a very comfortable looking corner featuring a hammock (If you ask me, EVERY wedding venue should have a hammock). Another highlight for me was the fact that Laura’s dad drove his daughter to the venue with a beautiful decorated vespa – how cool is that?!

Laura and Stefan chose to have a free ceremony, which is always a great idea since it is (at least most of the time) more personal than individual than a civil wedding or a church wedding. The ceremony was held by Simone, one of the most inspiring and strong women I know – we’ve actually met at one of my first weddings ever back in 2014 and since then we worked together at three weddings – and it’s always a pleasure!

For the bridal portraits we chose a hidden orchard with the trees already turning slowly colourful since autumn was around the corner – just as it is right now 🙂

And now, let’s head back to this beautiful day … Have fun!
