Wedding – Frequently Asked Questions

Popular Questions

  • How long in advance should we book our wedding photographer?

It's best to get in touch as soon as possible ! Wedding photography, along with other basics (such as the date, location and venue), should be on top of your priority list, because otherwise your desired date could be gone, especially when you plan on getting married during the main season (Apr - Sept), this is not uncommon. Please contact me as soon as you've decided on a date for your big day.

  • Are you working outside your area?

Of course! I love to travel and I'm available throughout Germany and also internationally for weddings.

  • Would you document weddings outside of Germany?

Yes, I love it! I love to travel and document 'destination weddings.' I charge travel fees such as driving or going bx plane and overnight stays. Let's talk about a travel flat rate!

Getting to know each other

  • Can we get to know you personally?

Yes, please! A personal meeting is obligatory before booking a wedding with me - or via video call, if the distance is too great.

That means: No wedding without a personal meeting! Why? Because you can't create stunning wedding photos without trust. With a first meeting between bridal couple and photographer, we can get to know each other, get a first impression and see if the chemistry is right between us. I'm interested in you as persons, not just as clients.

  • How does a first meeting take place?

As a place for our meeting I usually choose a cosy café or my living room.If we can't meet in person because of great distances, we can also chat via video call and get to know each other virtually.

Besides getting to know each other on a personal level, I usually use these meetings to develop concepts and to help you with your planning. We talk about your vision and ideas and consider how to put these into action.

My wedding guide, which you get right after your booking confirmation as a goodie, is always with me at these meetings, so that we can keep an eye on everything considering the wedding day schedule and all the details involved.

We can ask questions and I also talk about what's most important to me.

PLANNING AND PROCESS

  • Can you help us with planning the wedding?

I'd love to! With my experience over that last 12 years in business, I can recommend great vendors that will help you create an unforgettable wedding day. Please also visit my pinterest profile to get inspiration concerning different wedding topics, such as decoration, cake and outfits.

  • Do you offer a photo box?

No, I don't offer photo boxes. What I can do is help you looking for suitable vendors in this area.

  • What will happen after the booking?

After the personal meeting, a a reservation of dateis due. You pay 25% of your chosen package in advance, the rest is due after the wedding.

Furthermore, all important information is written down in a contract , that you get as a PDF.

As soon as I have the reservation fee and the signed contract, your wedding date is officially booked with me.

Then I will send you your wedding guide,  with over 50 pages full of inspiration, tips and tricks for a relaxed wedding day and gorgeous images.

  • How do you work during a wedding?

I usually work alone.During the ceremony I act quietly and don't use flash. I work with two cameras with two memory cards each., so that I'm more flexible with different lenses and it's more secure concerning data backup. While shooting the couple portraits, I prefer a calm atmospherein order for you to relax and get natural and candid moments (btw this is SO precious on an exciting and busy day!) of you two. I take my time and interfere as little as possible. At the party I always aim to get interesting impressions and in-between moments of the newlyweds and the guests as well as decoration and venue - here I enjoy mingling with the people and have fun at your wedding party! In the later hours, I start working with flash light.

  • (How) Do you charge in-between breaks and travel time during the wedding?

Usually there are no (bigger) breaks during the wedding coverage for me. My booked time starts with me arriving and ends with me leaving, which means everything in between is part of the wedding coverage, including travel times (e.g. from the place of the ceremony to the venue).

During the dinner I usually don't shoot and have a little break myself in order to be ready at full speed afterwards.

  • How do we pay?

For wedding coverages there's a an appointment reservation fee of 25%, while everything else (75% of the booked package and travel fees, ...) is due after the wedding day via bank transfer. For this you'll get two separate invoices..

On your big day you (shouldn't) have to think about the financials.

  • How do we get the images?

The first thing I do after a wedding is securing the data, looking through them and sorting out the ones which won't make the 'final cut.' Depending on the booked package I edit a certain amount of images in my light and airy style.

The images are being delivered as high resolution images without any watermark and lovingly packaged in a nice box on a leatherUSB stick. The amount of time it takes to edit all images depends on how many images have been booked and how much time I can invest during the peak season. I'm determined to deliver the final images withing the maximum of a few weeks.

I usually send a little sneak peek along with the invoice right after the wedding say, so that you and your loved ones can enjoy a first glimpse of your wedding.
