I don’t know about you, but when it comes to having your photo taken, most people tend to be insecure and quite uncomfortable (including me). You should think that it’s different with photographers, but at least for me, it’s not.
After all, it’s a strange situation – there’s a person with a camera jumping around you … I never met anyone thinking of himself as being photogenic and when you’re in front of a camera, you don’t know what you look like – how to move, what to do?
And now imagine it’s your wedding day and you have no idea what you’re doing – even worse, you’re nervous as hell (since, you know, it’s your big day) and still, you want this day to be one of the greatest ever and of course, you want your portraits to look natural and gorgeous. Tricky, isn’t it?
Actually, no, it’s not. Because there’s a way to solve this problem: By having a pre-wedding Engagement Session with your booked photographer. And believe me, it’s true – I married my husband back in 2012 and never thought about this aspect, but I’m sure I would’ve been so much more relaxed!
With every booking, there’s an Engagement Session ( a mini session of 30-45 min) included in the package for my clients. It’s a gift from me to you, you don’t HAVE to do it. Sometimes, it’s not possible to take the chance (due to distance or lack of time), but if you can – I highly recommend it.
Here are 7 reasons why you should have an Engagement Session:
- you get to know what it feels like to stand in front of the camera
- you get more self-confident and relaxed
- you get to know what feels natural for you to do
- you get to know your photographer better
- your photographer gets to know you better
- if you’re early enough, you can take the photos for your invitations
- if you’re early enough, you can even choose the season for the shoot
Still not convinced? Here are a few more examples from shoots with my lovely couples throughout the beautiful seasons of the year 🙂
